Dear CUFSAA-NA Member,
Cyclone Ditwah has brought overwhelming devastation to our motherland, Sri Lanka. The nation had been struck by torrential rains and violent winds, leading to extensive flooding. These severe weather conditions have triggered deadly landslides and caused rivers and reservoirs to overflow. As a result, hundreds of lives have been lost, many individuals remain missing, and millions have been affected or displaced from their homes.
The road to rebuilding our nation will be a long and challenging journey. Any support provided during this time is vital to help Sri Lanka recover from this disaster. There are numerous official and other channels available through which you can contribute to current relief efforts. We believe that many of you have already extended your support at a personal level, using a variety of means to aid the ongoing efforts.
If you have not yet been able to offer assistance, we encourage you to help the country during this difficult period by utilizing the available channels for its recovery efforts. Your support will make a significant difference in the lives of those affected.
As a group, Colombo University Faculty of Science Alumni Association (CUFSAA-NA) is closely monitoring the situation to identify specific needs where our involvement will be most impactful. Once these needs are determined in the coming weeks, we will inform our membership with further details on how you can participate in targeted support initiatives.
Thank you,
CUFSAA-NA
